Songs That Made Me

Katie Noonan Songs that Made Me

A unique live show featuring Katie Noonan, Angie Hart, Melody Pool and Sam Buckingham performing under the stars in the Perth Cultural Centre for ARTBAR.

Songs That Made Me unites four of Australia's finest female singer/songwriters, Katie Noonan, Angie Hart, Melody Pool and Sam Buckingham to share stories of their influences, artistic journeys and the landmark songs that have sound-tracked their lives. Following a sell-out tour of the East Coast in late 2013, interest and demand has been so great that Katie has revamped the show for another tour in 2014, including the premier performance in Perth!

Drawing from a list of artists ranging from Jeff Buckley, Joni Mitchell, Prince, The Pretenders, Cyndi Lauper, Sia, George and Frente these artists put a truly unique spin on some of the songs that have shaped their lives. The four singers share the stage for the entire show and collaborate naturally as they discuss and perform the songs, in a relaxed, intimate and spontaneous way.

Katie Noonan explains: “There is nothing I love more than sitting around with my girlfriends, talking and sharing stories. But as a musician, I find we don't get to share the stage with other artists very often - especially female artists. I thought this would be a wonderful and unique opportunity to share the stage through story and song and hang out with cool chicks at the same time! I am very excited to share the space with these gorgeous women whom I admire and respect, and think it will be a very special night for the audience and us!”

A charity album Songs That Made Me will be released in conjunction with Cancer Council of Australia and Universal Music in October.

Date: Thursday 30 October

Price: $48*
Time: Doors open 6pm, main performance 7.30pm

Exhibition: Richard Avedon People
