September - October 2009


Sunday Showcase features free musical performances at the Art Gallery of Western Australia, every Sunday during the months of September and October.

Between 1-2pm, performing arts students from WA tertiary institutions will showcase their talent as they negotiate contemporary and classical masterpieces. Supported by Caffissimo at the Gallery, performances will take place in either the Gallery's Concourse space or in the café’s alfresco area.

Sunday Showcases are free public performances!

Mister Tweed - Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts Students and Graduates

Featuring in Caffissimo at the Gallery, Café Alfresco


In a post-modern drought of male jazz singers Ryan Long is the proverbial storm on the horizon. Breaking into the Perth jazz scene in mid-2000 with the 5-piece ensemble Mister Tweed, combining with some of the finest musicians that Perth, and the world has to offer, including Dane Alderson, Troy Roberts, Kym Murrary and Gordon Ryder.

Trained in Jazz vocals at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, Ryan possesses the versatility to cross over genres into blues and contemporary effortlessly. Possessing a blend of influences from Blues to Jazz and Rock and Roll, Ryan can change tone accordingly to suit the material he is performing. He possesses the unique ability to facilitate a number of tones from the sweet pure jazz tone he employs to sing "There will never be another you" to the raw blues tone for a number such as "Roadhouse blues".
