Take a new journey through your Collection and discover the importance of water and how we can all play a role in protecting and conserving this precious resource.

This innovative Water Walk trail is the result of a new partnership between the Art Gallery of Western Australia and the Water Corporation. It uses works works of art from the State Art Collection to increase community awareness about themes such as water as a force of nature, water usage, and water as a scarce resource.

Water is an essential part of life and the planet's most precious resource. Without it no plant or animal can survive. In Australia, the world's driest inhabited continent, it is especially important that we protect and conserve our water sources to ensure its sustainability in the future.

Wonderlust is a dynamic new presentation of the State Art Collection, featuring Indigenous, Australian and International art, craft and design acquired since the Gallery's inception in 1895. The exhibition features old favourites, cherished gifts and hidden treasures from the Collection in five thematic displays Home, Mapping, Material Gesture, Presence and Story.

Pick up the Water Walk brochure and map at the Art Gallery reception desk and commence exploring some of the complex relationships between people and water.
