Year 12 Perspectives 2009 pays tribute to the commitment of Western Australia’s young artists through an exciting exhibition of dynamic, colourful and thought provoking artworks.
Surveying a selection of the finest works created by Year 12 TEE Art and Art and Design students who studied in 2009, Year 12 Perspectives gives the public access to the concerns, passions and aspirations of some of Western Australia’s finest young artists.
Artworks from students living and working in Japan will be on display in Year 12 Perspectives 2009, and in keeping with our commitment to cross-cultural exchange, a selection of works from Year 12 Perspectives 2009 will travel to Japan to be exhibited.
Amongst the many themes addressed in the exhibition are explorations of the self, concerns for our environment and the transition from life as a teenage student to life as a young adult. Presenting a diverse selection of mediums including painting, sculpture, jewellery, digital media and textiles Year 12 Perspectives showcases the highest standards of art making in Western Australian schools.
The Art Gallery of Western Australia is sure that this year’s Year 12 Perspectives 2009 will continue to inspire, amaze and delight visitors.

As part of the Year 12 Perspectives 2009 exhibition you can vote for your favourite Western Australian student artwork. Each vote contributed to selecting the People's Choice Award that was announced on 13 May 2010.
