December Project

December Project

The December Project is a group of six young creatives from around Boorloo, Perth who share a passion for dance.

Through friendship and a love for the arts they have come together to create a contemporary dance work that reflects the perspectives of young people today. Deconstructing individual experiences of certainty and uncertainty, strength and vulnerability, the work gives a voice to each member of the group as they explore their place in the world around them.

The December Project invites you into the playful, curious and passionate worlds of the dancers, reflecting the ‘whats’ and ‘whys’ of the young dancers’ lives within the shared space of the Gallery.

Part of AGWA Pulse a year-round program of art experiences and events for 15-21-year-olds.

By committing to a process of self-exploration, we have deconstructed what it means to be a young person today, and how we as individuals fit into the world around us…This work has created a sense of belonging for us within the group and we hope that this is extended to the audience.
